How to Show Percentages in Power BI Bar or Column Chart

In this tutorial, I will show you how to show the percentage of values in the Power BI bar or column chart.

Step 1: Setup the Power BI dashboard by downloading the Vehicle profile sample data Excel

Step 2: Drag and drop the column or bar chart to the dashboard and setup value as follows,





Now you can have an output like below (but as you can see no percentage values can be seen),


Step 3: To get the percentage values, we need to create a new measure


Step 4: Add the following formula

DIVIDE(SUM(Sheet1[Profit]), CALCULATE(SUM(Sheet1[Profit]),ALLSELECTED(Sheet1)))

Step 5: Now set the Percentage format for the new measure created


Step 6: Add the new Percentage measure to the worksheet as follows,


Your output will look like follows,


Step 7: Now enable the data label in the format tab and you can get the percentage output
